Game Day with Attorney Amanda E. Wright and the Trojans
The Law Offices of Amanda E. Wright recently spent an unforgettable game day with the Maynard Evans High School basketball team. The Trojans are gearing up for a massive playoff run, and we were thrilled to join them on the court to show our support.
On Thursday, March 12, 2026, the Trojans will face off against Lake Howell in the 2026 FHSAA Boys Basketball State Semi-Final. A victory here punches their ticket directly to the State Championship game. The energy in the gym is electric, and the players are entirely focused on bringing home a win.
A Court-Side Questionnaire
To break up the intensity of their championship preparation, Attorney Amanda E. Wright hit the hardwood for an interactive basketball challenge and questionnaire with the team. The players fired off lighthearted questions, asking things like, “Can you make a free throw?”, “Who’s your favorite NBA player?”, and “What’s your favorite sneaker?” Amanda took the questions in stride, sharing her pre-game rituals and talking hoops before turning the tables to ask the players a few questions of her own.
The Intersection of Hoops and Injury Law
The conversation eventually transitioned from basketball tricks to the realities of game day safety and injury law. Amanda asked the team, “If a teammate gets hurt, what would you do?” This opened up a great discussion about the importance of looking out for one another.
They also tackled a quick legal quiz, with Amanda asking whether slip-and-fall accidents are tricky to prove. The discussion highlighted the crossover between athletics and legal rights. When asked, “Who do you call if you’re in a legal jam?”, Amanda naturally added, “Hopefully me!”
Playing Fair On and Off the Court
Whether you are on the basketball court or navigating the legal system, rules exist to keep things fair and safe. Amanda asked the players what they would do if they saw something unfair, emphasizing that accountability matters everywhere. The team agreed that following the rules off the court is just as critical as running the right play on it.
